During Brother Jack's teaching, I was particularly challenged by the words that encouraged us to go beyond our limited views of ourselves and trust in the gifts the Lord has placed within us. Brother Jack told us: "You think you have no seeds, but you have plenty. Use them, sow them and you'll see trees grow."
We left with another Sentinel after the teaching to approach several women asking for alms. I can still remember their faces.
We had some very basic exchanges: first name, country of origin, family situation, health problems, etc. I didn't think there was much point. I didn't think there was much point. But it was a joyful exchange.
At night, as I fall asleep, I can't avoid seeing the faces I met during the mission, and I pray to Mary for them.
The next day, the Lord made me understand that exchanges, whether with a friend or with strangers on the street, have the same "utility". It's the Encounter. It's about bringing joy to everyone, not just the people you know (comfort zone).
That's it! Thank you, Lord, for teaching me that through daring there is always joy in sharing.
Maman Marie was always there with us and I will continue to pray for these women and their needs.
